Optical properties of noble metal nanowires have drawn particular interest due to their significant applications in nanoscale research, such as biosensors, solar cells, and optoelectronic devices. The unique optical properties of noble nanowires primarily originate from the localized surface plasmon resonance, which depends on the size, shape, composition, and dielectric character of the nanowires. In this article, we firstly give a brief review on synthesis of noble metal nanowires, then mainly discuss the relationship between their shape and optical properties.Finally,a number of potential applications of noble metal materials are introduced. |
